Queensland Government Wireless Network (GWN)
Titan played a pivotal role in delivering and supporting the GWN across multiple Queensland Government emergency services, including the Queensland Police Service (QPS), Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), and associated public safety agencies. Our scope encompassed infrastructure deployment, equipment integration, and system commissioning across metropolitan, regional, and remote locations, including Far North and Western Queensland. We managed extensive site access logistics, coordinated with local stakeholders, and adhered to strict operational security and continuity requirements across service branches.
NSW Government Telco Authority
As an Approved Panel Contractor for the NSW Telco Authority, Titan has delivered numerous telecommunications infrastructure projects across the state. These projects have involved coordination across multiple government departments—each with differing technical standards, compliance frameworks, and geographic constraints. Our role has included end-to-end delivery, from design and engineering to installation, testing, and commissioning. Working within this environment requires sophisticated project management, robust risk mitigation, and the ability to navigate layered governance structures with efficiency and transparency.
Telstra 5G Network Rollout – National Program
Titan was one of the first contractors selected to support the national rollout of 5G infrastructure. This milestone program introduced several new technologies into the field for the first time in Australia, including Massive MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) antenna systems, centralised radio access network (CRAN) architecture, and millimetre-wave spectrum equipment. Our scope covered end-to-end deployment including rigging, integration, and commissioning of new-generation radio hardware, while working closely with OEMs and carriers to validate installation standards, test configurations, and refine deployment methodologies.
Titan Communications has played a pivotal role in advancing the deployment of Centralised Radio Access Networks (CRAN) through the implementation of baseband hoteling solutions. These projects have utilised Dense and Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM/CWDM) technologies to centralise the processing of distributed radio sites, representing a significant evolution from conventional site-based baseband infrastructure. This innovation has contributed to more efficient and scalable network architectures, particularly in environments with high demand for bandwidth and redundancy.
We have also delivered critical infrastructure works that supported the migration from analogue to P25 digital trunked radio systems for multiple agencies. This involved detailed RF planning, upgrades to antenna systems, and integration of high-capacity backhaul solutions. Our team ensured that these transitions met the rigorous performance, interoperability, and reliability standards required for mission-critical communications.
Titan has supported the national rollout of next-generation base station technologies such as the Ericsson AIR series and Nokia AirScale. These upgrades often involved the replacement of legacy TDM radios with IP-based microwave systems, significantly enhancing network performance, capacity, and maintainability. Our experience in navigating these complex transitions underscores our deep understanding of both legacy systems and emerging technologies.
